Sunday Morning Snow

Good morning everyone. Following the overnight snow, I will monitor the weather conditions closely throughout the next 24 hours and will post here and through Parentmail if the school needs to close tomorrow. Currently we are planning to be open, but I have to ensure that I have enough staff to cover classes adequatley.

Please check back to this page tomorrow in case the Mobile Phone networks become overloaded tomorrow as everyone texts at around the same time. You can also get news from Twitter by following me @BarringtonHead - Fingers crossed for a warmer night and clear roads in the morning.

In the meantime, wrap up warm and I hope to get some great snow man pictures emailed through.

Cancelled Meeting 7pm 10th Feb

Dear Parents

Due to the onset of heavy snow we have decided to cancel tonight's meeting on the school's new Managed Learning Environment (MLE). We do apologise for this but don't want to risk staff, pupils and parents having to travel in the dark in these conditions.

We will reschedule the meeting for next half term.

Regards

Mrs Keelan

Monday 11th January 2010

Good morning parents

The expected poor conditions forecast for Sunday night did not arrive and school is open as normal.
Please wrap up warm (including hats and gloves) and take care coming to school.

I don't anticipate anymore problems this week and will only post again should the weather take a turn for the worse.

Mrs Keelan

Friday 8th January 2010

Good Morning Parents

School is open as usual and it is expected that there will be no need for children to go home early today.

Heavy snow is forecast for Sunday night which may result in school closure on Monday. I will endeavour to have news for you about school as early as possible on Monday. Could I ask parents to avoid calling the school to ask if we are open as this blocks other calls coming in. I shall use ParentMail text and email, the open check site and this blog so hopefully we've covered all bases!

Regards

Mrs Keelan

Thursday 7th - Update

Due to the hazardous travel conditions this morning. We have decided that children may be picked up from 1.30pm today if parents are available.

School will still stay open until 3.30pm as usual and children will be supervised till the end of the day if they are still with us. Only children being collected will be allowed to leave early. (Please note that parents will only be allowed to collect their own child/ren unless the school is already aware of collection arrangements for others).

After School Club will not be open tonight.

Regards
Mrs Keelan

Thursday 7th January 2010

Good Morning Parents

School is open as usual and children should attend. Please can I ask that everyone ensures that they are dressed for this cold weather. We still have some coming to school without sweatshirts, gloves and hats or with only thin summer jackets.

Children are welcome to come in wellies (very sensible) but need to have shoes to change into once at school.

Hopefully, there will be a bit of an improvement in conditions throughout the day. I'll update the blog again should there be further snow next week - watch this space.

Stay warm
